About June Okamoto . . .

The love of plants and working outdoors has come full circle to June.  As a young girl, she used to help her father out during the summers as he worked his magic turning ordinary gardens into beautiful ones as a landscaper.  After working many years in the corporate world as a manager at various departments for Toyota Motor Sales, June decided it was time to shift gears.  She enrolled in an Introductory class to Horiculture at UCLA and was hooked.  By the end of 2004, June had completed the certificate program in Horticulture and Gardening from UCLA and was ready to transition careers to that of a landscape designer.

In her new career, June is able to use her knowledge of plant identification, design concepts with her artistic and creative vision to design functional, sustainable and lovely gardens.  She has a passion for her work and enjoys working with her customers to create a more ecological and environmentally minded solution for their landscape needs.

Her only regrets are that she did not switch into this field sooner and that her father was not able to see his daughter blossom into her new career.  The apple didn't fall too far from the tree in this case.

June is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Garden Conservancy and the South Coast Botanical Garden.

June resides in Torrance with her husband, Michael, who was so supportive of her decision to switch careers, and Izzie, their sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel along with a very energic Beagle.
